COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT SERVICES

Developing and embracing a philosophy of full inclusion, we closed our sheltered workshop in 1997 and focused resources on supporting individuals at jobs in the community where they could earn a real wage.

The Community Employment Services (CES) Program offers a variety of strategies and opportunities for employment. From resume building or honing interview skills to the actual job search, support staff assist with all aspects involved with obtaining employment. If needed, a job coach is provided until the new employee becomes acclimated to the new position.

Our philosophy is that everyone who has a desire to work should be afforded the opportunity to find meaningful employment suited to his or her interests and abilities. Through the years, individuals have located jobs in a variety of occupations including food service, retail, janitorial, transportation, and banking.
In Fiscal Year 2021, a total of 57 individuals maintained or found new jobs. We also have janitorial contracts with some area businesses.
We can develop specialized services for local businesses. Contact CES Supervisor, Michael Brown, at (815) 875-4548 Ext. 255, for more information.
